A FEW WORDS

ABOUT US

As you all know, it takes a village to create change – and we need to be the change we want to see. And that is why we formed this Association: For a Better Renton.

Margaret Mead said, Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.

The Association is currently comprised of more than a dozen multi-generational thoughtful (5 generations to be exact), committed Renton Residents who reside in 5 different neighborhoods. We are Democrats, Independents, and Republicans. We’ve served on City Council, are Board Members, attended the Civic Academy, sat on Crime & Safety panels with the Renton Police Department, been or are currently officers of our neighborhood associations, and attended the Renton Police Academy. Some of us have met with every City Council member and the Mayor. We speak regularly at the City Council on issues facing Renton. And, in these ways, we have tried to be the change we want and deserve.

Vision, Mission & Values

  • We seek professional and actively-engaged-in-the-community candidates to run for local elected office; City

Council, the School Board, and Mayor.

  • We will support candidates, campaign for them, and continue to support them during their public service, and

help keep them focused and accountable to the vision and values.

  • We remain vigilant on current pressing issues and challenges facing Renton, local and city-wide, and will monitor

emerging challenges.

  • We deserve elected officials who engage with residents, are fiscally responsible, and act with a strategic and

thoughtful approach.

  • We value a variety of skills, backgrounds and experience and leadership who represent everyone in the city.

We are asking for your support in several ways:

  • Donate

  • Volunteer

  • Join Us

Please email us to let us know whether you’ll be donating, joining us, and/or volunteering. We look forward to creating a Better Renton – with you.
