Vision

When you visualize A Better Renton, what do you see? We see us coming together and working with the City, the Mayor, City Council, and the School Board – and each other. We see fiscal responsibility, strategic and thoughtful consideration as it relates to current & emerging issues facing Renton and its residents.

We see elected officials who engage with and advocate on behalf of our community. We see these officials responding to all resident’s concerns, and communicating with transparency, and creating opportunities for resident issues to be heard and addressed.

Mission

We are a diverse group of Renton residents actively committed to changing how our local representatives engage with and advocate on behalf of our community. We seek to hold representatives accountable in how they respond to all resident’s concerns, and support alternative candidates who prioritize their role as intermediaries between all Renton residents and government action. We will support candidates, campaign for them, and continue to support them during their public service, and help keep them focused and accountable to the vision and values.

We remain vigilant on current pressing issues and challenges facing Renton, local and city-wide, and will monitor emerging challenges. We will regularly share information on these issues and challenges in a variety of formats so that all residents are aware and can also hold representatives accountable.

We value a variety of skills, backgrounds and experience. And, leadership who represents everyone in the city.

We value diversity on all levels, and our approach is simple: it’s about embracing everyone. And cultivating a culture where all are welcome and valued.

Who we Are

We are a diverse group of Democrats and Independents and Republicans, who believe in collaborating across partisanship differences to work in the best interest of Renton. Currently, we span 5 generations and 5 neighborhoods.
